5.School Entrance / Transfer Procedures
If parents wish to enroll their child into a public elementary or junior high school, they are advised to visit the Board of Education and convey their intention to enroll their child into a school in Japan. The Board of Education will schedule a hearing interview, and if there are no problems, the admission procedures will proceed.

6.After School Children’s Club<外部リンク> (link Japanese only) (formerly called “Gakudo hoiku”)
Elementary students may stay after classes, if children cannot go home right away due to reasons like their parents or guardians are not home because of work. The After School Children’s Club (Gakudo Hoiku) provides a place which aims to foster physically and mentally healthy children through suitable play. 7.School Expenses Support<外部リンク> (link is Japanese only)
In order for children enrolled in Minokamo City’s elementary school/junior high schools to be able to attend school and maintain a comfortable school life, part of the necessary expenses needed for education will be granted to households who have difficulty putting their children through school for economic reasons.
[Eligible Expenses] School supplies, excursion fees, extra-curricular activity fees, school lunch fees, and sports council insurance premiums etc.
